Jonny Craig

So I've just got back from seeing Jonny Craig play The Moon Club in Cardiff. It was a really nice intimate gig that felt more like a bedroom jam session. I listened to Dance Gavin Dance when I was younger and they quickly became one of my favourite bands, and when Emarosa played in Birmingham I had to go see them.
Although Jonny doesn't have much of his own material, the stuff he does have is good and his vocals are perfect. The crowd was great too, singing along to every line without fault. Overall it was a good little gig with loads of energy, and a nice way to spend my saturday night.

Pierce the Veil

I went to see PTV play Clwb in Cardiff last week, I hadn't been to a gig in way too long and this was exactly what I needed. We ditched the first support act to get food and made it just in time for the second, a band called Crown The Empire. I found them mildly entertaining, although they could do with a better lead vocalist, but they did a good job of warming up the crowd.
Finally what we had all been waiting for, the signature sound of Vic Fuentes coming through the speakers. The gig was perfect, the sound was great and the vocals were spot on. The crowd, mostly full of 16 year old emo kids sporting hair styles I didn't think existed anymore, were going wild. Arms flying everywhere, bodies crashing into one another, it was a mess of skin, drink and sweat.
PTV kept everyone wanting more, and when they finally ended the set with King For A Day, the little emo kid inside me felt wholly content.
My one and only wish would have been for Kellin Quinn to make an appearance for the final song...But you can't have it all.
