AlunaGeorge

Aluna Francis and George Reid (AlunaGeorge) are a London based electronic duo. Aluna being the vocals, with a sweet child-like sound, and George in charge of producing the mix of dub step, bass and garage.
The duo had a slow start up, first meeting in 2009, to announcing the title of their debut album in January 2013. It wasn't until a collaboration with the newly popular Disclosure on the track 'White Noise', that AlunaGeorge started to get noticed.
Listen to the extended album and judge for yourself, I especially like the cover of 'This Is How We Do It'.

Bad

I just had to write a quick post about the Wale - Bad Remix featuring Rihanna. Now i've been a fan of the original since I heard it when I was in America back in May, but there's something about the sound Rihanna brings to the song that takes it to another level.
If you haven't heard it yet take a listen.

P.S Wale's album 'The Gifted' isn't half bad either.

Magna Carta...Holy Grail

So Jay-Z's back with his impressive twelfth album. Released without any pre singles, the album features artists such as Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, Rick Ross, Nas and of course Beyonce.
He kick starts it with 'Holy Grail' featuring J.T, just to give you a taste of whats to come and get the juices flowing. Following this are a few tracks to keep you interested, but by the time you get to 'Oceans' featuring Frank Ocean, you know you're listening to something special.
What sets Magna Carta apart from other albums are the sounds and samples he uses from different eras and cultures, and yet he manages to mix them together and produce something very tasty.
After winding things down with 'Part ii (On The Run)', Jay comes storming back in with one of my favourite artists, Nas, for 'BBC'.
I think the most interesting track of the album has to go to 'Jay Z Blue', with samples from 'My Downfall' by B.I.G, and a monologue of Faye Dunaway in the film 'Mommie Deares' which gives a slightly eerie undertone.
Jay-Z released his album for free via the Magna Carta app available with Samsung, then later for retail sale, proving that it really is all about the music. He also shows an air of sophistication by using Battista di Domenico Lorenzi's, Alpheus and Arethusa statue as the album cover.
